Marketplace Indicators and Sources

The Children’s Rights in the Marketplace Index evaluates three issue categories, which are measured by three types of indicators: legal framework, enforcement and outcomes. These issue categories were developed based on CRBP 5 (Ensure that products and services are safe) and CRBP 6 (Use marketing and advertising that respects children’s rights).
The three issue categories are:
- Marketing and advertising: protections from inappropriate advertising and marketing
- Product safety: the risk of injury to children from product use
- Online abuse and exploitation: the risk of online child abuse and exploitation, including cyber-bullying
